Notes on the Hebrew Prophets
Numbers in Revelation
This research document specifically deals with the phrase “1000 years” that is found six times in Revelation 20 as well as other numbers written about in the book of Revelation.
The much needed teaching of the Scriptures pertaining to local church discipline has been neglected and ignored by many Pastors and church boards even though the Church for centuries understood its importance in keeping a church spiritually healthy. It has become an almost unheard of practice in the 21st century American church. It may be that this is mostly due to a lack of knowledge of what the scriptures teach.
In this writing Dr. Benware examines the matter of corrective church discipline as seen in the Word of God.
The Book of Acts is an historical study of the begining of the Church of Jesus Christ as it spread from Jerusalem to Rome.
These notes outline the three-fold division of the book, highlighting both the historical movement and the important elements
concerning the church that are given in Acts.
The Church of Jesus Christ began in Acts 2 on the Day of Pentecost.
These classroom notes outline the concept of “church” as well as the operating principles
as revealed in the New Testament scriptures.
The Gospels record dozens and dozens of statements about future things in the teachings
of the Lord Jesus. These truths give the believer needed strength to “press on toward the
goal for the prize of the upward call of God” while at the same time cultivating the much
needed “two world view” in the mind and heart of the believer.
These notes cover from Genesis to the Song of Solomon. The approach is a chronological one with the study being based on the “Eleven Foundational Books.” These eleven books give the storyline of the O.T. The other 28 books of the Old Testament are then systematically related to these eleven books. The 16 writing prophets are not included in this set of notes. The notes follow the format of
a “Survey of the Old Testament” by Dr. Benware, published by Moody Publishing.
These notes include both of the Corinthians letters. While the subject matter comes out of the Apostle Paul’s concerns with this troubled church of the First Century, it has an unusual relevance to the church in North America in the 21st century.
These notes cover the background and content of Daniel’s prophecy. Daniel is a strategic book in understanding end times prophecy and the Book of Revelation is firmly based on it. These notes go along with Dr. Benware’s commentary on Daniel.
These notes deal with the group of New Testament books commonly referred to as the General Epistles: that is, James, Hebrews, 1 & 2 Peter; 1, 2 & 3 John; and Jude. While the title may not be the most accurate one possible, these books deal with critical areas of living well the Christian life. These New Testament letters, along with the rest of the books of the New Testament, are covered in a “Survey of the New Testament” written by Dr. Benware.
These notes are on the Apostle Paul’s earlist letter which deals with the all important matter of how a person gets rightly related to God. Martin Luther called Galatians “his wife” since he had such a deep affection for this letter. The key issues of justification by faith and living by means of the Holy Spirit are part of this epistle.
